Scarlett Johansson on the Cover of Marie Claire Magazine October 2020

During an interview for the winter issue of Marie Claire, Black Widow star and the Little Women actress, Scarlett Johansson and Florence Pugh insisted they grew close on set as they were able to “take the p* out of each other from day one.” They commanded attention as they posed up a storm in edgy outfits for the publication’s accompanying photo shoot.

In the action movie, set for release on May 7 next year, Scarlett Johansson (Natasha Romanoff) must confront missions alone before forging a strong friendship with Florence Pugh (Yelena Belova), who is also prepared in the Red Room as a Black Widow. On emulating a sister-like relationship on-screen, Florence Pugh shared: “I think maybe the tiredness did add to my not being so self-aware. I allowed myself to start taking the p* out of Scarlett from the first day, which was great. And then from that point forward, we did it to each other. It was instantaneous sisterly bonding.”

Meanwhile, Under the Skin star touched on being directed by Australian movie executive Cate Shortland in a “male-dominated business.” Scarlett shared: “I do not want to candy-coat anything because it is a challenge in a male-dominated business to tell a woman’s story from the perspective of a female director and focus on the heart of something that is inherently female.” Scarlett Johansson stunned in a white off-shoulder dress for the cover shoot, styled with a deep red lipstick slick.

Another look saw the blonde beauty exude glamour in a beaded halterneck outfit before amping up the sex appeal in a black sequin frock. Florence looked equally stylish in modern white co-ords, which she dressed up with a tiny black bralette. Both Scarlett and Florence are keeping busy amid the coronavirus pandemic, with Scarlett Johansson currently filming animated musical comedy Sing 2, while Florence is filming horror-thriller Do not Worry Darling.
