Rihanna Honored as a Barbados National Hero at an Inaugural Event

Rihanna was honored as her home country’s 11th-ever national hero during an event on Monday 29 November in her hometown Bridgetown, Barbados. The event was also the inauguration ceremony for the country’s first-ever president, Sandra Mason. In transitioning from a commonwealth state to a republic, Queen Elizabeth officially stepped down as the head of the state by letter because she could not come for health reasons. Prime Minister and leader Barbados’s republican party Mia Mottley honored Rihanna (real name Robyn Rihanna Fenty) as the country’s national hero with the words” “Shine bright like a diamond and bring honor to your nation with your works and your action.” The singer, actress, and businesswoman looked excellent in an orange scarf-halter dress by Bottega Veneta and brown strappy ankle-wrap sandals by Manolo Blahnik.
