One of the most recognizable Hollywood actress Ellen Page publicly comes out on December 1 as a transgender male Elliot Page. The actor, previously known as Ellen Page, was nominated for an Oscar for his 2007 movie Juno role. The Juno star introduced Elliot to the world in a candid, formal letter shared to his Twitter and Instagram accounts on Tuesday, December 1.
“Hi, I want to share with you that I am trans, my pronouns are he/they, and my name is Elliot,” the actor began. “I feel lucky to be writing this. To be here. To have come to this place in my life.” I am happy.
“I feel immense gratitude for the wonderful people who have helped me on this journey. I cannot begin to express how remarkable it feels to love a true self again. So many people have endlessly inspired me in the trans community. “Thank you for your courage, generosity and ceaselessly working to make this world a more inclusive and humane place,” he added, “to offer whatever support I can and continue to strive for a more loving and equal society.” He went on to ask the public for “patience” as he struggles to manage life in this “fragile” moment. He continues, “The truth is, despite feeling deeply happy right now and recognizing how much privilege I have, I am also worried. I am afraid of invasiveness,” Elliot revealed, adding that the actor also fears “hate, jokes, and abuse after this.” The actor wrote about “staggering statistics” and described prejudice against trans people as “rife, cynical and cruel.” The actor noted that this year at least 40 transgender people were killed” He also accused “politicians to criminalize trans-health care and deny all our rights.” And those who “continue to spread out hostility” to the trans-community, he said, “Enough is enough.”
Elliot Page married Emma Portner – a professional dancer and choreographer – in 2018. She commented under his letter: “Love you so much, Elliot.” Miley Cyrus also added on Instagram: “Elliot rules!” and many other celebs have supported Elliot on social media platforms.
Elliot Page is currently starring at Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy, which will return to streaming for its third season somewhere in 2021. In response to Elliot’s Twitter letter, Netflix posted, “Yeah, so proud of our superhero! We love you! We love you! Cannot wait to see you come back in season three.”

Good for him!
Don’t say “him”! It may not appreciate the labels. I really hope It learns to handle a c*** and balls. And if It does grow Y chromosomes, It must never be cast as a female again. It always had boy ti****s, anyway.
